Francophonie, sometimes also spelt Francophonia in English, is the quality of speaking French. It is not to be confused with the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, sometimes also informally called “la Francophonie”. The term designates the ensemble of people, organisations and governments that share the use of French on a daily basis or/and as administrative language, teaching language or chosen language.

La Francophonie as it is now known can be defined as the world community of French-speaking countries, or the collective unit formed by French-speaking people. In Francophonie: Purism at the International Level, Brian Weinstein describes it this way:

Francophonie is an international language movement led by government and non government elites in over thirty countries where French is official or used by a significant population. The maintenance and extension of a standard spoken and written French language purified of unacceptable English language borrowings and local idiosyncrasies is one general goal. The other is the maintenance and extension of French as an official or co-official language (Weinstein 1989, 53).

Worldwide there are more than 150 million Francophones

1. RHYMES ( FRENCH ONLY)  – THE PARTICIPANT CAN SING ANY FRENCH RHYME . PROPERTIES ARE ALLOWED.
2. DRAWING – SHEETS WILL BE PROVIDED , THE PARTICIPANT CAN DRAW ANY FRENCH MONUMENTS. ( PEN,PENCIL, CRAYONS,ERASERS MUST BE BROUGHT BY THE STUDENT)

COLORING ( ONLY FRENCH MONUMENTS) –  THE PICTURE WILL BE GIVEN BY US.

3. ESSAY ( FRENCH / ENGLISH ONLY) –TOPIC WILL BE GIVEN ON THE SPOT

4. SINGING ( FRENCH ONLY)

5. SPELL BEE – IT IS A WRITTEN TEST – 30 QUESTIONS WOULD BE POSED TO THE PARTICIPANTS

( Both English and French )

6. HANDWRITING ; FRENCH / ENGLISH

3 TO 5 YEARS – ONLY ALPHABETS

6 TO 10  YEARS – SENTENCES

11 AND ABOVE – PARAGRAPHS

HANDWRITING SHEETS WILL BE PROVIDED BY US.

7. SPOT TALK -( FRENCH / ENGLISH ONLY) –TOPIC WILL BE GIVEN ON THE SPOT
